(April 21, 2022) - Download the Android Classic device agent from the MobiControl Android OEM Specific Agent Downloads page.
You can now indefinitely disable app updates on a per-app basis via script commands on Samsung and Zebra devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed or Corporate Personal; and on Samsung devices enrolled as Android Classic. This allows administrators to restrict business-critical apps (including the SOTI MobiControl agent) from automatically updating to the Play Store version and disrupting their device user's workflow.
"Display Over Other Apps" permission can now be granted to third-party apps either silently or interactively (depending on agent configuration) via script commands on devices enrolled as either Android Classic or Android Enterprise. This allows administrators to remotely grant their business-critical apps the ability to display itself over any other app.
Remote control is available for IDEMIA devices that are enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed with an IDEMIA plugin. With this new feature, administrators can troubleshoot IDEMIA device issues without requiring physical access to the device.
Manage battery optimization (Doze Mode) for apps installed on Panasonic devices that are enrolled as Android Enterprise. This allows administrators to exempt business-critical apps from being restricted and affected by Android’s Doze mode.
You can now enforce App Notifications on Lava T81N devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed. With this update, administrators can restrict Lava device users from turning off notifications for business-critical apps.
MCMR-28435 | The agent incorrectly reported a null value for Exchange Identity after boot up on Samsung devices |
You can now enforce the frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) for Wi-Fi network connections on Zebra devices that are enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed which allows administrators to restrict their Zebra devices to Wi-Fi networks with better network reliability and security.
Wi-Fi Service Set Identifier (SSID) can now be blacklisted on Samsung devices that are enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed or Corporate Personal. This allows administrators to restrict their Samsung device users from accessing insecure/unapproved Wi-Fi networks.
MCMR-29186 | Samsung devices on Android 8, 9 and 10 were incorrectly reporting the hardware serial number |
MCMR-29270 | Scripts or device actions could not be sent via the “Platform Notification Service” delivery method |

You can now enforce the frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) for Wi-Fi network connections on Panasonic devices that are enrolled as Android Classic or Android Enterprise Work Managed.
Apps that launch automatically when an Android Classic or Android Enterprise Work Managed device enters or exits speed lockdown can now be configured by script to either launch every time lockdown is entered or exited, or only the first time.

“Manage External Storage” permissions can be granted to the agent either silently or interactively (depending on agent configuration) on devices enrolled as Work Managed to accommodate for Android Scoped Storage changes introduced in Android 11.
JavaScript scripting options have been expanded with the following:
Manage battery optimization (Doze Mode) for apps installed on Honeywell Android 6 and above devices that are enrolled as Android Classic.
