The agent's JavaScript scripting feature set has been expanded with more options for automated and powerful scripting on Android devices:
We have moved remote control support via the accessibility service for devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed to a SOTI Generic plugin. This overcomes Google Play Store’s restriction on accessibility service usage to provide continued remote control support for devices regardless of the manufacturer, availability of an OEM-specific capability or OEM-specific plugin.
The agent now supports the ability to activate the Samsung KPE Standard license instead of the Enterprise License Management (ELM) configuration which provides access to Knox-specific features for devices enrolled as either Android Classic or Android Enterprise. As a result, administrators have continued support for their Samsung Knox secured devices.
Note:This will be made available for new enrollments in SOTI MobiControl 15.6.0.
You can now set the preferred input method (keyboard) on devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed via script commands. With this upgrade, administrators can customize the on-screen experience for their device users.
You can prevent managed Wi-Fi networks from being removed on Android 6 and above devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed. This allows administrators to ensure their device users are unable to remove approved Wi-Fi networks.
You can now securely set cellular data to be enabled via scripts commands on devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed with a compatible OEM-specific plugin. Administrators can prevent their device users from modifying their device cellular settings and ensure there are no disconnects from the SOTI MobiControl server.
You can now update the firmware via script commands on Chainway C66 Android 8 and above devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed. Firmware updates can now be deployed on managed devices without mobile worker disruption.
The agent now reports the Unit Serial Number (USN) instead of the Board Number for NAUTIZ devices when enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed. Administrators can use the USN to identify their devices for warranty purposes, troubleshooting and overall management of their fleet.
MCMR-26401 | On Samsung Android 9, VPNs that were configured with certificates were unable to reconnect when the device passcode was reset |
MCMR-28272 | The agent was not reporting device location information when requested by the server |
MCMR-30449 | On Android 12, the agent was unable to install the Antivirus profile |
MCMR-30485 | The Browser Proxy policy was unable to auto-detect proxies using a PAC file URL |
